SolidWorks Design Contest

SolidWorks Corporation has announced the 2006 edition of its Design Contest, open to SolidWorks users working in the product design sector. Prizes include hardware and software, for a total value of US$150,000.

The contest challenges SolidWorks® 3D CAD software users to create outstanding designs in three categories: models, photorealistic images, and animations.

Honors include a Grand Prize for best model, with the winner receiving an assortment of prizes, including a Dell Precision™ 390 Workstation and 20-inch monitor.

Prizes will be awarded to one Grand Prize winner for Best Model and a first, second, and third place winner in each of the three categories.

All entries will be judged based on aesthetic appeal, technical challenges, the organization’s use of SolidWorks software, and supporting explanatory text.

More than US$150,000 in prizes will be awarded to 10 winners, who will be spotlighted at the SolidWorks World 2007 International User Conference and Exposition, Feb. 4-7, 2007, in New Orleans.

The competition deadline is November 30, 2006.
