Rather than presenting fully developed vehicles, the four projects presented by design students from ISD Rubika explore different conceptual ideas based on the dualism between autonomous and driving operating modes, and the way vehicles will be perceived and “lived” in the future.
Il Gigante della Strada Concept

Il Gigante della Strada (“The Road Giant”) is a large vehicle designed for an ultra-urbanized context, where the true luxury is to have “space” to enjoy time with friends.
The vehicle is designed to be a symbol of success and is inspired by luxury yachts, which is clear in the choice of scale, materials and layout.
It’s composed of three spaces : a business one with large armchairs, a lounge with a comfortable sofa which promotes relationships and the rear deck, that allows passengers to feel extreme sensations of speed.
Bipolari Concept
Design Team: Timothée Seban, Maxime Lefevbre, Kewin Sebastien, Julien Quiring, Jordan Zingang-Divet, Antoine Vandekerckhove
The context for the project is a future society where everything is controlled by machines, with a number of passionate people who feel frustrated for not being able to drive themselves during the day.
In the transformation, the roof section is lowered to give shape to an open-top sportscar
The Bipolari Concept has a dual nature: it’s a comfortable autonomous vehicle during the day and transforms into a high-performance racing vehicle that allows its owner to give space to his/her crazy “side”.
Eredità Romana Concept (Roman Heritage)

The Eredità Romana (Roman Heritage) concept is strongly inspired by the “biga romana” – the famous Roman battle chariot.
The fictional context for the concept is a very futuristic and technologic world, where the main need is to go back to the roots, and to find new applications for the historic heritage.
The vehicle consists of a single-seat cell and a drone, connected through elastic cables. In active mode, the drone visually tows the driver’s cell and the vehicle is controlled by two “reins”.
In autonomous mode, the drone is integrated in the rear section which forms a closed cell with a lounge-like atmosphere.
Protezione Materna Concept
Design Team: Julien Fesquet, Cyrille Kirket, Adrian Godin-Bernard, Léon-Georges Not, Marius Torterat
The Protezione Materna (“Maternal Protection”) is a two-seater vehicle designed for a dystopian future where most people are aggressive on the road due to the stresses of the living and working environments.
In this context, the vehicle is able to help its owner by deciding whether he/she is in the right condition for driving.
In driving mode, the cell structure rotates to create a motorcycle-like driving position for a dynamic, sporty driving experience.
In autonomous mode, the seats position will adjust to increase comfort and allows passengers to relax.
